U13s Make Slow Start to Indoor Season |

Last Sunday saw the start of the indoor season for our u13s.
Led by Jack Jarvis, who has been appointed Captain for the season, they opened their season with a close fought encounter against SMRH, unfortunately losing by 17 runs. The difference ultimately being one player who scored 3 consecutive 6s. Livi batted sensibly throughout, only conceding 2 wickets in their 8 overs but struggling to get the ball away as they were being fed a string of wides (15 in total) and in the end only hitting one boundary. It was a solid if unspectacular start.
Livi in return bowled a really good line (only 3 wides bowled) with Tushar taking a wicket with the first ball of the innings. Sadhil and Jack Jarvis also taking wickets later on. Tushar took a catch for one of the wickets, however there were some chances dropped in the field which would have made the result closer. This was definitely a match where there was an opportunity lost to notch up an early victory.
The second match was against a much older looking Penicuik side, coached by our own Jack Hilton. Which spooked the team a little. Penicuiks bowling was that much quicker than they had faced in the match with SMRH which resulted in Livingston conceding 7 wickets. That said in many respects the batting performance had improved with better running between the wickets and 3 boundaries scored. However Penicuik were just too good and went on to win by 86 runs. In the field Tushar took 2 wickets in the first over (Jack Adams taking a catch) and a run out was achieved in the 3rd over when Zane was bowling.
What is really promising is that 4 of the 8 players are still eligible for our u11 side and should take a lot of confidence from their performances to take into that competition. The team were:
- Jack Jarvis (Capt)
- Sadhil Jindal
- Tushar Tomer
- Jack Adams
- Ewan Hall
- Zane Hall
- Arsh Jindal
- Jake Leighton
