Livingston Retain the West Lothian Cup |

In a match designated both an FCU and West Lothian Cup match a young and old Livingston team beat West Lothian by 3 wickets.
West Lothian batted first on a pitch that offered some assistance to the seamers but some aggressive batting saw West Lothian reaching 48-1 off 10, Mathew taking the first wicket. Jim Wilson then took his first wicket of his seventh decade bowling their number three.
Shrey took 2-23 bowling some testing leg spin before a decisive spell from Jack Jarvis put the home side on the back foot. Jack had two batsmen caught behind by Gary Mill and two caught close in, taking 4-19 in four overs. Asam took the last wicket to dismiss West Lothian for 112.
Some good stroke play from Ian Hall saw the visitors of to a quick start but wickets fell steadily. Livingston kept up with the run rate thanks to some selective hitting from Gary Mill and with 10 overs left stood on 80-6. Needing 33 to win Gary was joined by Jack Jarvis and the pair added 27 with some sensible shot selection and good running. Gary was then out for 53 having hit 7 fours, an excellent match winning effort, before Jim Wilson hit the winning runs.
So Livingston retain the West Lothian Cup for another year, which is especially pleasing given the blend of youth and experience that delivered such a strong all round team performance to beat their local rivals.
