Wicketz Indoor League Update 6 March
Written by Administrator

2016 03 06 Wicketz Mighty Dux 110-4 beat Livingston 92-4 by 18 runs

After being asked to bat first the Mighty Dux came flying out of the traps, reaching 63 inside 6 overs and hitting at least one maximum in each of these overs. The main perpetrators were Cosh and Seghal who were both forced to retire in no time. This allowed the Livingston bowlers to gain more of a foothold in the game, and with this exert their skill on the MD batsman. Praise must go in particular to Jack Jarvis and Travis Chandler who were able to restrict the late scoring to just 17 from the final three overs, including 2 wickets, and keep the score down to 110. At one point it looks as if the chase would be much higher and thus the Livingston batsmen began their innings in the ascendancy.

Despite this, some excellent bowling from the MD ensured that Livingston were always behind the rate and chasing the game and as a result wickets fell with relative regularity. When 32 was required from the final 2 overs Livingston looked to be well in the game, nevertheless, an skillfull over from Bhunia yielded just 6 and took 2 wickets leaving the requirement from the last over virtually unassailable. Eventually Livingston fell 12 runs short, but they should be proud of their efforts against a very strong MD side.
