Junior Round Up
Written by Administrator

The Under 11's had to endure yet another cancelled fixture as Edinburgh South / Boroughmuir could not field a team on friday evening, so they need to wait until next week for a potential first game against Watsonians. The under 13's are also awaiting their first game of the season which is scheduled for this monday evening against Edinburgh South / Boroughmuir at home.

The Kwik Cricket team have managed to play this weekend and they took part in the Grange Kwik Cricket tournament in Edinburgh, winning two of their three matches by beating Penicuik and Edinburgh South. The Young Kingfishers lost their final game against the hosts but put up a very good fight.

Marc Vettese bowled exceptionally well and just missed a hat trick by millimeteres and Robert Burgess also bowled well taking a number of wickets for very few runs. Duncan Appleyard and Adit Gupta proved to be a strong batting pair and Ryan Gordon and Grant Gallacher both put in steady performances on their debuts. A special mention should go to our parents who out cheered all the other teams parents and are quickly building up a reputation as the "Barmy Army". Next sunday the Young Kingfishers and their supporters head to the borders for the Hawick tournament.
