Shoddy Kingfishers Lose at Home to Grange |

Livingston 'maintained' their run of home defeats against Grange at Dresselrigg on Saturday. Since the two teams first entered the same league in season 2000 Livingston have failed to defeat Grange at home. And to be honest, there was never a better opportunity than the one presented to them this time.
Losing the toss and being asked to field Livingston regularily took wickets redcing Grange to 122 for 8, before a 9th wicket partnership of 47 helped Grange to finish on 172 for 9 off their 50 overs. Hamed Ahmed continued his good bowling form with 4 wickets. The total could and should have been a lot less, but a combination of dropped catches and too many wides and no balls allowed Grange to post a total they shouldn't have. Never mind the 20 extra runs contributed through wides and no balls, the extra runs scored off the extra deliveries probably increased the total by around 30 to 35 runs.
In reply, most of the Kingfishers batsmen got a start but too many were dismissed for low double figure scores. A club record 8th 8th wicket stand between Feraz Ashgar (37) and Jim Wilson (25) put victory back on track, but some calamitous running late on with only 4 runs an over needed saw Grange run out winners by 27 runs.
A disappointing result saw the Kingfishers go to 2 and 2 for the season. This weekend they travel to Goldenacre to face high flying Heriots.
