First XI crush Penicuik
Written by Mark Collings

Livingston's comfortable win sees them rise to second on the table as league leaders Drummond slip up.

Penicuik II: 57 all out (24.4 overs)
Livingston: 58-1 (12.3 overs)

Navid won the toss again, and invited the visitors to bat on a pitch that played surprisingly well. Senthil tore through the Penicuik top order, with an excellent spell of swing bowling. Meanwhile, Mark tempted the batsman into lofted drives to give Krishna two catches fine catches. Penicuik were in deep trouble at 18 for 5. The bowling changes brought no relief, as Soaby bowled three batsman in 4 overs, and Krishna took his first wicket. With a stubborn last wicket partnership of 23, Penicuik struggled to 57 before the returning Senthil ended the innings. Ramesh once again looked assured as a stand in keeper.
Livingston's in-form batting line up was little troubled chasing the small target. The victory was closed out in the 13th over, for the loss of one wicket. Anand finished on 43 not out.
We could have done with a tougher test ahead of next weekend's big games.

S. Kumar: 8.4-5-11-4
S. Asghar: 4-1-5-3
