Written by Mark Collings
Livingston: 176-8
Murrayfield DAFS II: 84 all out With Navid's form at the toss showing a worrying end of season dip, Livingston were batting first on a typically damp and awkward pitch. None of the batsman were able to get well established in the difficult conditions, but Anand, Soaby, Senthil, Iain and Salman all made good contributions. Importantly, Livingston were able to see out the 50 overs, to post a defendable total.
Senthil and Ramesh both took wickets in their opening spells, but the Murrayfield reply started to look settled. Tight spells from Mark and then Navid doused the run rate and ran through the middle order. As the rain started to fall, Livingston rushed through the overs to reach the safety of the 30 over mark, and effectively sealed the win. As the conditions deteriorated, Mark clumsily put down a chance off Navid's bowling to preserve a chance for a 5-for, and took it in the next over. Jim took just 3 balls to round off the innings in the 35th over.
The win provided enough points to secure 2nd place, but nearest rivals Drummond Trinity lost anyway.
