West Lothian were invited to bat, with Livingstons 1st priority being 5 wickets to secure 3rd spot. west Lothian made a steady start before Anwar bowled Miller(19) in the 19th over with the score on 53. WL bated through to the 19th over without further loss untill a double wicket over from Anwar with the score on 87. From then on WL piled on the runs helped by some sloppy fielding to 196 before Mackay had Ronalson caught on 52 in the 36th over. Franks broke opener Gurrs(77) resistance in the 41st over to give Livingston the points they needed and Clark picked up 2 further wickets in the next over. West Lothian 3's posted 248-7.
In reply Heaney and Bowering made a watchful start for the 1st 10 overs before Heaney(12) was caught with the score on 26. Last weeks batting star Jeremy Franks bettered last weeks performance with stands of 40 with Bowering(22),50 with Anwar(26) and continued on into the 44th over before being caught on 69 having secured maximum batting points. Clark remained unbeaten on 11 at the close. 177-5
With 1/2 of division 7 being promoted to division 6 and our young lads all coming good this season and indeed some of the more mature ones too,I hope for a strong showing in Division 6 next year.

I also think that the blend of youth and experience in the team this year helped, particularly in terms of getting runs for the team, and hopefully if we can retain the same squad of players for both teams next season and even build on it, both teams stand a good chance of promotion again!

You'll recall that no other Livi 2nd XI team played in Div 6 so last season no one could knock your performances as no one else has played there. So next season, when you are there in Div 6 with 2 years experience (and clearly an improvement in your own justified self confidence) I beleieve you will all do brilliantly. Look forward to it....
