Mutterings and Blusterings |

Amidst the hushed tones and atmosphere so electric it required a David Vetessesqe late cut to change it, the Annual AGM took place at the Gerry Toms Pavilion last night. Not since the last of the days of the Raj has there been so many coups, attempted coups and counter attempted coups. With the place rife with enough ammunition to fill quartermasters store, the biggest miracle of all is that any of those present got out alive. |
Clearly the back stabbing and wheeling and dealing was going to count for nothing as position after position was filled by best of 3 arm wrestling matches. At the end, amidst the blood, bones and destruction the following fine men of honour were elected to take the club forwards in 2011.
- Chairman: Darren Hall
- Vice Chairman: Jon Curties
- Secretary: Jim Wilson
- Treasurer: Gordon Young
- 1st XI Captain: Navid Asghar
- 2nd XI Captian: Darren Hall
- The position of Sunday XI Captain remained unelected at this moment.
Blusterings and mutterings the likes of which haven't been seen since the heady and legendary musings of Dickson, Heaney and Gorman (Solicitors to the gentry) abounded all night. Debate and counter debate fired across the room in rapier fashion. The combined intellect present making the House of Parliament look like the primary school playground. It was awesome. This was democracy at its finest. It made you proud to be British....
Well to be honest, it was nothing like that. Yes the men above were elected unopposed to the posts. There was some chat about bits and bobs which the minutes will divulge, but we almost fell asleep listening to the ESCA proposals....
Roll on 2011
