Musselburgh: all out 173 (46 overs) Senthil Kumar: 8-2-19-2
Livingston: all out 75 (25 overs)
Livingston once again let slip the opportunity for the first win of the season with a fragile batting performance.
Navid put the visitors in on good pitch. Livingston were on top early with two early wickets. However, a bruising innings of 87 in 20 overs, including 8 straight hit 6s, from the Musselburgh No. 3 turned the innings. With the score on 111, Shrey took the key wicket with his third ball and was unlucky not to take more. Musselburgh accumulated only 62 more runs in the next 26 overs. A much improved fielding effort kept the pressure on the batsmen, claiming 3 run outs and conceding few overthrows and misfields. Despite fine takes by Drew and Dabasis, the catching was still poor with 6 spilled chances. A solid all round bowling performance saw the remaining wickets evenly distributed, with 2 to Senthil and one each to Mark, Navid, Jim and Ramesh.
Livingston's reply started badly and did not improve. Musselburgh's West Indian opener ran through us, taking 7 for 21. Conner survived his final few balls, before hitting the spinners in a late cameo to top score with 16.
Once again, Livingston were undone by the performances of only a few of the opposition. Our efforts with the bat were limp, but as almost all wickets fell with defensive strokes, to accurate bowling. That said, 7 wickets flattered him.
