Our annual awards commenced last night with our show of respect for Phil Hughes. Many had turned up with their caps and bats which were on display all evening as the full club house observed a minute's silence.
Bobby opened the evening with a brief summary of the 2014 season including the fact that we had won our first trophy (Terry Newcombe Trophy) since the West Lothian cup in 2009. The awards brought together players from across our Junior and Senior ranks and most of our award winners were there in person to collect their award.
The first half of the ceremony focused on the batting, bowling & fielding awards, the winners being:
- U13 batting - Jack Jarvis
- 2nd XI batting - Neil Jarvis
- 1st XI batting - Jazim Sohail
- U13 bowling - Jack Jarvis
- 2nd XI bowling - Mark Collings
- 1st XI bowling - Navid Asghar
- U13 fielding - Amir Raza
- 2nd XI fielding - Mark Collings
- 1st XI fielding - Simon Lancaster
The first part of the evening concluded with medals being handed out to the juniors recognising the progress they have made as a group over the last 12 months.
Jenny then laid on what she has rightly become famous for; a fabulous buffet.
The second part of the evenings also commenced with our Juniors recognising the most improved in the various age groups:
- U10 - Arsh Jindal
- U11 - Craig Anderson
- U13 - Jack Adams
This was followed by medals to those who had played in the Terry Newcombe Final.
The final group of winners were:
- Best Junior in a Senior Team - Greg Murdoch
- Clubman of the Year - Mark Gray
- Players Player - Neil Jarvis
- Tunnocks Teacake Award - Sohaib Asghar
The evening finished with a special recognition award for Jenny Anderson, acknowledging what she has done to make our club a really welcoming place, both for visiting teams and members alike.
All in all a great night was enjoyed by a really good crowd and many thanks to Asam for his excellent photographs
