Hopefullly we are not tempting fate, but finally, finally, after the longest saga in history we are pleased to announce that the long awaited outdoor practise nets are complete and available for use by club members. Thanks to the efforts last night of Gordon, Greg and Connor (aided by Naveen and Iain) the netting was erected around the poles, to complete a project that has been too long in completing!  We are hoping that the nets make a significant difference to those that attend training sessions, and in conjunction with the bowling machine, we should be able to make a difference to every players game (Of course, you have to be willing to put the effort in and turn up at training regularly in order for that to take effect!!!). The nets are 90 feet long,, each bay being 12 feet high and 11 feet wide (all dimensions approx), enclosed at sides and above by netting over 48mm galvanised steel poles.

WARNING: These poles are heavy and will cause serious injury if they fall on you. Please do NOT shake, climb or lean on the poles. The club will not accept any liability for any accidents caused by doing such (or other irresponsible) actions.

Pictures are curteosy of Greg, but hopefully they help show what a great facility we now have. One day we might write the history of the project and the never ending sagas of things that went wrong from the minute the first groundsworks and frames were commenced right up until 7pm last night when the measurment of the nets were wrongly calculated!! It was one of those projects that even when it was almost impossible to go wrong it did!  Now it's over. and we are onto whatever the next one is!!
