President's Cup slips away from Livi |

Livingston will not retain the Presidents Cup this year, after falling to an 8 wicket defeat in an ungracious encounter at Dresselrigg. The holder's went crashing out, suffering their first ever defeat in the competition at the hands of an excitable Edinburgh side.
On the first game at Dresselrigg since 9th June, skipper Neil Jukes lost the toss (again!) and we were inserted on a damp wicket which would get easier to bat on. We struggled to 113 all out with only Fahad Ahmed and Navid Asghar getting into the 20's. In reply Edinburgh bludgeoned and hustled their way to win inside 20 overs.
It was just another in the constant unpleasent atmospheres that permeate cricket grounds on a sadly more increasing basis with little or no observing of the spirit (or rules!) of the game. Fortunately we will not encounter Edinburgh this season again, and hopefully it will be a long time before we have to again.
