First half horror as 1's crash to lowly Falkland 2's |

Livingston crashed to their 3rd defeat of the season away at the picturesque Falkland Saturday. On a greenish spongy wicket with recent rain, Livi again lost the toss and were promptly inserted. After the disappointing fielding display in the rain affected Boroughmuir trip the previous week, Livingston again were lethargic from the off, whilst Falkland awaited changed, practiced and in position.
With top performer and regular opener Sohaib Asghar with three others en-route close to 1pm, hastily padded openers Jukes and Ahmed were quickly dismissed in the testing conditions. Wickets continued to tumble with only brief respite, first by Crichton and Lang. Sohaib Asghar continued his fine form, riding the odd half chance, and with Fahad Ahmed and Mark Collings also offering resistance. 105 all out the total, an early tea and pause for reflection.
Opening bowler Ian Thomson raised interest levels with another fine pacey spell, quickly reducing Falkland to 4 down. Falkland initially failing to cope with the tight bowling and conditions as badly as Livi had. Another handy change spell from Navid Asghar supported by Fahad Ahmed's spin reduced Falkland to 6 down and an improbable victory was in the balance. Salman Aslam attempted a fine diving catch of Fahad Ahmed, which if taken would have piled on more pressure, but after that glimmer the bat largely prevailed. Falkland's opening bat saw the game home and we were denied a close finish that would have been wholly undeserved.
With promotion hopes evaporating, Livingston quickly need to turn around attitudes, work ethic and team spirits to get the most out of the playing potential which is undeniably present at the club.
