Boroughmuir II 240 - 4 Livingston II 160 all out
Playing on a good batting track with a fast out field, Livingston won the toss and put the home team in to bat. An early wicket for Hall in the 5th over was the only breakthrough until Jazim took a wicket with his first delivery in the 18th, then a second
with the first delivery from his second over.
In amongst all the action
Richard Wilcock pulled a calf/knee/leg based injury on the rough
outfield and was sportingly taken to A&E by the Boroughmuir
captain. No other wickets fell untill an unwise 2nd run was taken by
Burnett on 96 who got run out to a Jazim lightning return to Connor to
take the run out. Boroughmuir finishing on 240 which was about par for
the ground. Quick mention for Thomas Hilton who bowled an excellent 8
over spell on debut.

In reply Livingstons new opening pair of Daz and Jaz set about the
reply with bullish hard hitting from the skipper combined with the
quality shots of the self appointed substitute vice captain Jazim. At
drinks Livingston stood at 133 for 0 well ahead of what Boroughmuir had
scored at the same point (95 - 3). Unfortunately the skipper was the
first to go in the next over caught by a full length dive at slip for
76. Jasim went next delivery for a classy 57. Sadly a full on collapse
then ensued with us limping to 160 - 9 with Richard unable to bat (and
wearing a foam hospital pair of shoes). Pick of the Boroughmuir bowling
was K Skidmore(didn't skid more at all!!) with the excellent figures of
6o 0m 21r 7w.
On the positive side we have blooded 5 new players who will go on to
bigger and better things this year. Plus we will win more games than
lose scoring 160 every week. COME ON THE 2'S
