Livingston 1st Xl 195-8 lost to Grange 2nd Xl 196-8
Livingston scored 195 for 8 off 50 overs, Salman scoring a very timely 50 odd - as the skipper said not enough runs given the quick outfield but a great effort given that at one stage we would have been lucky to get to 150. Good contributions from most of the team, though we still need to work on pacing the innings better with 118 off the first 40 overs, and 77 off the last ten overs
Grange scored 196 for 8 off 44 overs (?) - they started like a runaway train, we fought back to slow the scoring down (we actually had two spinners bowling at one point!) and took wickets (and some very good catches) - we nearly won the game as they needed about 30 odd with 2 wickets to spare but we couldn't get the last two wickets, so in the end they they got the runs with overs to spare.
We definitely missed Jim's bowling and Mark's bowling, but defintely our best all round performance as a team this season. If we can continue the hard work for the rest of the season a win or three is not far from our grasps.
