Livingston 2's 236-5
beat
RH Corstorphine 3's 193 all out
On a scorching hot day at The Rigg Livingston were invited to have first use of one of Jims finest wickets.
Opening pair Heaney and Anwar had an opening stand 110 in 22 overs before 'dead on his feet' Anwar was caught on 59.
Hall joined Heaney for 8 overs before also being caught on 26, quickly followed by the jug avoiding Heaney for 48 in the 31st over. Bobby 'one shot' Bowering was out for 1, enter 'special teams' Kumar and Franks in 34th over who put on a quickfire 70 in 10 overs before Franks was bowled for 20, Sureth gave the last ball the charge (missed) leaving him unbeaten 0 and Kumar an unbeaten 58, a top class knock which looked effortless at times. 236-5 on an even paced/bouncing track.
In reply RHC 3's got off to a solid start before Hall got a direct hit run out with the score on 31. 2 wickets in succession from Kumar led to the 1st hat-trick ball of the day(not taken). RHC were keeping up with the run rate but the Livingston bowlers kept chipping away picking up the occasional wicket but at 145-5 in the 34th over a win was not in the bag. Shiv picked up 2 wickets in 2 balls with quick in swinging yorkers which lead to an impressive hat-trick field leg slip, 4 slips everyone else catching but it was not to be. With Livi wilting in the heat Hall picked up the last 2 wickets with RHC on 193 in 41 overs.
Shiv 3-24,Anandh 2-23,Clark 1-15,Hall 2-43, run outs Hall and Anwar
Not a vintage fielding display from the 2's this week but the heat had alot to do with that.
