Squeaky bum time for 2's
Written by Darren Hall
Livingston II 141 all out  34.2 overs
beat
Largo III 131 all out 43 overs
Livi again won the toss and elected to bat, Kash (23) was the only top 6 batsmen to score well. Which gave the tail a chance to wag taking the score from 51-5 to the eventual target of 141, Suresh 17,Connor 16,Thomas 13, Roddy 11 not out and Gordon 13.

The 2 opening bowlers Mackay and Duvvri opened up with a wicket maiden a piece followed by another for Ramesh in the 8th. Largo made slow progress scoring 13 off the 1st 10 overs and totalling 40 after 20 overs. Anwar ripped the middle order out taking batsmen 5,6,8 and 9's wickets and Hilton chipped in with 1 leaving Largo looking out of it on 83-8 in the 32nd over and all but gone on 97-9 in the 36th. But Largo kept on pushing and the returning Hilton and Hall couldn't get the last wicket and a bad over from the skipper took them into contension conceding 13 off the 39th over to put Largo on 118. At the start of the 43rd over Largo were on 130 and 3 lusty blows would have secured the win...... but on the last ball of Halls over the number 11 batsmen popped a simple catch to cover and it was another win for the 2's.
Mackay 9-5-12-1
Duvvri 9-3-11-3
Anwar 9-1-26-4
Hilton 8-0-34-1
Hall 5-0-21-1

Don't know what all the fuss was about really ;-)

Big game against  West Lothian and their 100% record next week

And no mention of my almost 'hatrick' of wickets

A very good team performance, especially the tail when batting - it was a difficult pitch to bat on with inconsistent bounce at both ends, but you showed with a bit of luck and discipline and some excellent running between wickets (i've never seen so many 3s run in a Livi innings) what could be done.

And it was a good fielding display for the most part, with very few catches dropped. Special praise to Roddy for taking a catch and standing his ground under pressure from the charging Spinking who was looking for the caught and bowled.

shame that i couldn't convert my good start into a big score.. think i shud go4 some anger/ temptation management course .. :D (or drink plenty of beers the night before the match so that feeling bit lazy to hit big shots next day  )..

As an observer, it was good to see the "Jonas Brothers" get a run out for Livingston. I beleive one of them fluked a top edge over the boundary too. However, I strongly suggest a trip to Mid Calder to see the barber.

I was umpiring from the bowlers end and those 4 fours you hit were excellently timed and placed and certainly deflated the bowling side, and was probably the start of the fight back for us, as the run rate picked up.

Let's also not forget Jezabel's memorable long innings for nowt.

As for anger management classes - I blame the pitch (but as they noted I would say that having got out to one that climbed on me!). There'd be a few to go with you Suri after sundays top order collapse and the number of soft catches we gave them.
