Livi 2's back to winning ways.......just
Written by Darren Hall
Peebles County II 63 all out
lost to
Livingston II  64 - 8
10 man Peebles won the toss and elected to bat.
Livingston bowled and fielded to a very high standard with Miani,Mackay,Anwar and Hall all keeping the run rate below 2 an over picking up 4 wickets between them. In the 27th over Chris Reid made his first 2nd Xl appearance of the season and ripped through Peebles in fine style picking up his first 5 fer, helped by good catching and another very sharp Clark catch, finishing with figures 4.2 over 1 maiden 10 runs 5 wkt
. So livi were set a low 63 for a win
Mackay 9-3-14-1
Miani 7-3-10-1
Anwar 7-3-10-2
Hall 5-2-6-0
Reid 4.2 -1-10-5
Clark 3-0-8-0

In reply the Livingston limped over the line scoring 64 for the loss of 8 wickets in 23 overs, with the man of the match Chris Reid edging the winning runs.
The Livingston batsmen let themselves down again with a couple of exceptions Anwar 31 and Mackay's steadying influence coming in at no.7.

It's still a win and 20 pts to the 2's

Good effort guys, nice to see both teams getting the results they needed. I guess close games are more exiting and are more talked about.
Well done to Reid for his 5 wickets, i hope Darren let him keep the match ball :-)

Good work Chris. Good work scheme team.

From what i saw, the fielding was super (great catch at square leg off Faisal's bowling...who was that?) and i thought you were going to bowl them out for 45 or so.

Some terrible haircuts mind and i'm not just talking about that old boy with the long white hair who was batting 3 or 4.

Positives - some great catching backing up some excellent bowling

Negatives - made really hard work of a low target. Everyone really needs to work on their batting and picking which ball to have a go at - most of their guys were caught and most of ours were too and that tells a tale in itself.

At least next week we are back on our travels - as much as I love bowling at our place the last few weeks its not been condusive to batting.

catch at square leg.. that was me me me me... that was the only positive for me from the game apart from polishing the ball.
Can someone give me expert batting tips on how not to get out in LBWs particularly when facing around the wicket good line and length balls.... 3 LBWs this season so far in similar fashion..

Not expert..But here u go :P
1. Its a good practice to open up ur stance wen facing around the wicket bowling...ie let ur left leg a bit trailing than the right leg instead of them being in line..This opens up ur shoulder so that u have a better chance of viweing the ball n its trajectory, swin g and stops u from falling over...
2.Bribe Connor from standing as an umpire wen u bat.. :-?

Ho ho Connor, you could do no wrong in my book sunshine.....until now. Keep those hands in the pockets you moose. Blinkin' bowlers, do not let them umpire!!!

But yes, you make up for it with your heart warming scheme related sentiment.

By the way, its about 16 degrees here...in Wales.
